New releases of Spongiae, our set of filters for various file formats, are published today

The main new feature is about the XLIFF format: when used as an input filter, it is now possible to loop over individual segments rather than over units. This works for both XLIFF 1.x and 2.x.

It also adds better support for GetText, and in Spongiae 2, also supports placeables in these two formats.

Our policy about branches remains valid: branch 1.5 contains only the part of the features which does not break compatibility of the API with 1.0, meaning that tools using it like Elefas or Exilis can use Spongiae 1.5 without requiring any modification (but they may be modified later to use the new feature).
For example, the support for segments, in branch 1.5, is only usable as a filter, while branch 2.3 also introduces a new API for dedicated methods which may remain compatible but it is not 100% ensured.
