Spongiae 2.x
The version which is actually distributed has support for tags inside segments, only for HTML, DocBook and OpenDocument (LibreOffice ODT) and OpenXML (Microsoft Office). In previous release, this support was inactivated when you use segmentation due to a known bug, which is now corrected : now only OpenXML (whose tags format strongly differs from other formats) still has this limitation. Now the known limitations are:
- OpenXML : still no tags if you activate segmentation, as just mentioned (note: when you render the translated document, you will loose formatting but the document remains readable by Word and LibreOffice);
- lack of support of notes (footnotes or comments) in OpenDocument (LibreOffice ODT format). You will receive warnings if you try to use Spongiae with documents containing notes, but produced documents will not be corrupted.
- lack of support of indexed terms in DocBook
Note also that other tools from the Ruber suite (like Exilis or Elefas) are actually based on branch 1.x without tags. The reason is that adding tags requires modifications in the API, which will be applied in these tools only when we are sure that they are definitive. In the meantime this should not really be a problem since Elefas, Exilis and Castor do not use tags and use Spongiae only in read mode.
