This branch is the one used by other tools of the Ruber suite (Elefas, Exilis, Castor...). It is considered as stable in the sense that we guarantee that its API will not become incompatible between releases of branch 1.x

It lacks support for tags (use branch 2.x if you need them) and writing support for formats which would not work correctly without tags.
